Castellammare del Golfo

The town was founded as the commercial hub for the Elymian city of Segesta. In the seventeenth century it developed around its characteristic structure in the shape of a cross road.


Worth visiting is the emblematic Mother Church at the end of Corso Garibaldi in the centre of the town, the Church of the Rosary and the Castle which is today a museum.

In summer it becomes a destination resort, characterized by the presence of bays, cliffs and rocks; lovely scenery hard to describe with words.

A spectacle of nature is located within walking distance from the town centre, the beautiful bay of Scopello, surrounded by a beautiful turquoise sea.
